PLASTIMO acquires Spanish & Swedish distributors to strengthen positions on Export markets
PLASTIMO, a subsidiary of ALLIANCE MARINE GROUP, has announced the acquisition of Spanish distributor DISMARINA MEDITERRANEA (Barcelona) and Swedish distributor NAVINORDIC (Henån, South-West Sweden).
Yann Cornec, Plastimo Managing Director, is very happy about this dual acquisition which reflects Plastimo’s major ambitions on the export market : « 2020 has been a very strong year for Plastimo which encourages us to accelerate our Export development scheme. Spain and Scandinavia tick all the boxes : they are extremely attractive markets on which we are targeting not only the recreational segment but also a significant development in professional fishing and commercial boating. Choosing DISMARINA in Spain and NAVINORDIC in Sweden to support and implement our ambitious scheme was just natural : both companies have been extremely loyal and have promoted our brand and products for over 30 years. They are undoubtedly the perfect partners with great product knowledge and an in-depth expertise of their home market.
The green light from Alliance Marine meaning full support from our mother company confirms that we are taking the right step at the right time ».
This two-at-once acquisition also reflects the Alliance Marine Group strategy to broaden its international scope : both distributors now becoming Plastimo subsidiaries have access to other products and brands from sister companies in the Alliance Marine Group. They can also take advantage of the strength of a large group while keeping the agility of middle-size companies.
Jean-Paul Roche, Alliance Marine Group CEO, reports : « a strong Export activity has always been part of Plastimo’s DNA, so we support totally this offensive action plan conducted by Yann Cornec and his Lorient team. We are also pleased to welcome in our Group two companies specialized in the distribution of leading equipment brands : this is a business model that is very familiar to us, so we are confident that both companies will seamlessly match the Group’s spirit and values. In addition, the Alliance Marine Group will no doubt boost its international development with two additional footholds on territories with high potential and maritime culture. »
